This session will introduce the pending DOE Nuclear Energy project on verification and validation (V&V) of software tools for coupled nonlinear SSI analysis. Come hear from a panel of stakeholders on advanced reactor applications and shape the V&V guidance through live audience polling. Audience feedback will focus the reactor innovations and software features to be addressed in the guidance. The nuclear industry is investing in realistic nonlinear SSI analysis to achieve structural optimization and cost reductions. This project targets a key challenge to leverage that investment: regulatory precedence for traditional software tools and uncertain V&V expectations for alternate tools.
