You can find a plastic surgeon by using these tips

Finding an experienced plastic surgeon is not always easy. This is a difficult task. Do not underestimate the complexity of this important task. Not everyone knows someone who's had plastic surgery associates.

They may be able to give you a recommendation based solely on their friendship, or even personality. The term "hospital-based plastic surgeon" is also used to describe those who perform mostly reconstruction surgery.

Check that your surgeon is primarily a cosmetic surgeon, specializing in the type of surgery you want. Avoid fake boards and certificates that look official. Instead, choose an experienced plastic surgeon who is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. Although these organizations may appear impressive, according to Joyce D. Nash (author of What Your Doctor can't say about Cosmetic Surgery), "Certification from such an organization is probably worthless."

You should ask where your doctor received his certification. Do not trust a doctor who is not certified by the ABPS. If you are looking for a cosmetic surgeon in your local telephone directory, beware. In most metro telephone directories only two-thirds of physicians are board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Many of the doctors listed in plastic surgery sections have no formal training for cosmetic surgery.
